I’ve been having such a great time talking with and making plans with couples for their upcoming weddings that I’m late in getting my personal favorite portraits from 2011!  So here they are!  As always, enjoy, vote for your favorite, and leave a comment to let me know what you’re thinking!

You may remember the images from Morley & Mike’s wedding at the Genesee Grande in Syracuse back in June and I hope that you enjoy these photographs just as much as those!  One of the most difficult things about scheduling a wedding day is caring for the needs of all of your guests along with balancing the time requirements of your venue, and building in the time for all of the photographs that you want.  This problem is not unique to any wedding but there is a solution and Morley & Mike took advantage of it!  The solution… the Sport The Dress session!  This special session allows you to spend your wedding day with the people you love and then, in a relaxed setting, at another date and time, get all of the awesome bride and groom portraits that you want!  The real advantage here is that we aren’t pressed for time, everyone is relaxed, and we can find some great locations and great light!

For this Sport The Dress session Morley & Mike decided to head back to Skaneatles, the scene of their engagement photos!

I am so happy with how these turned out but above that the best part about this session was the chance to hang out with such a great couple again!

While not yet quite to the end of her pregnancy (still 3 months to go), I headed out to Onondaga Lake Park yesterday with Amy and her husband Andy for a maternity mini-session. The weather simply couldn’t have been better for a summer morning here in Syracuse and I think we got some pretty nice photos that will help this great couple to remember this stage in the waiting for the little one to arrive!

We are proud to announce that The Story Photography & 315Seniors.com are a part of the Teen Identity Network of photographers. This network is committed to the following:

As a Teen Identity network photographer/filmmaker, you agree to uphold and promote these ideals:

1. I will provide a photo/video session experience with teen girl clients designed to elevate their self esteem, make them feel beautiful and empowered.

2. Any photos and videos I (or my studio) create portraying teen girls will be done without over-sexualizing the subject. Photos and videos will be created tastefully, preserving the “innocence” of youth, yet at the same time striving to reveal the true personalities of our subjects.

3. Each year I (or my studio) will donate whatever time I can afford towards a Teen Identity approved organization or project designed to raise self-esteem in teen girls, empower teen girls, or address some issue of social injustice facing teen girls. This may include, but is not limited to, pro bono photo sessions for teen girls in economically depressed neighborhoods; teaching photography and/or video workshops on behalf of Teen Identity; acting as a photography/video coach for teen girls in my local neighborhood.

The Story Photography & 315Seniors.com have always been about creating photos in which an individuals personality and true beauty shine through. We hope that you can help spread the word about the fact that this is what we are committed to!

Here’s a quick video to illustrate this point of need & FYI, some may find the content of this video objectionable, it does make a real point though…

Thursday afternoon I had a great time making some great photos of Meghan and her motorcycle! We met up down at the Oneida Lake boat launch in order to get such a great background and the broken clouds really cooperated with us! Enjoy the photos!
