Yancy & Arlen’s Cherry Island Wedding!

It’s easy to see why Yancy & Arlen chose to have a Cherry Island wedding at Casa Blanca, it’s an amazingly beautiful location in the heart of the Thousand Islands!  This wedding is a tough one for me to describe as I usually do though!  Typically I try to walk away from each wedding with a one word description in mind to sum up the wedding day.  This time though, with Yancy & Arlen, the day ran the gamut from elegant to off the wall, from sentimental to the completely unexpected… as you’ll soon see!
The wedding day began with a boat ride to Casa Blanca on Cherry Island where Yancy and the bridesmaids were taken care of with makeup by their good friend who travelled from Florida for the wedding! Of course, while the ladies were busy with hair and makeup prep for the big day, the men were busy getting ready too…  The guys made sure that Arlen was well taken care of with full body massage as well as keeping him cool! Yancy’s shoes had SIX straps so she needed all four of her bridesmaids to help! In order to make the most of their time with their wedding guests on the day, Yancy & Arlen decided to take advantage of the wedding day first look.  This way they got to enjoy the intimate moment of seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day but they also spent time on some portraits of just the two of them before the ceremony so they could maximize the time with friends and family during the cocktail hour and reception. I couldn’t pass up this little moment where Arlen went down to help Yancy with her dress as I was preparing to make a portrait of Yancy alone! The gazebo at Casa Blanca on Cherry Island is a perfect wedding ceremony location! Earlier in the day I had overheard Yancy mention that Arlen had proposed to her on Heart Island, the home of Boldt Castle!  So, as soon as the ce
remony was over I had to create a quick photo of the newly married couple with Boldt Castle! What a way to end a perfect wedding day at Casa Blanca on Cherry Island!
